Christian investigated what steps he takes in his design process. To visualize the steps in an interesting way, Christian drew the design process in the form of the Penrose Stairs illusion. This impossible staircase never ends, which shows the cyclical nature of Christian’s process: you can start from the “Define” stage, travel to the “Improve” stage, and continue back to “Define”.
