Katia’s postcard represents an abstract version of her design process using a mountain range, trees, and clouds. She was inspired by the ethics category in the “Good Designers do X” affinity grouping activity in class, specifically from a quote by David Hendry: “[Good designers] use human values as criteria for evaluating proposed solutions.” Katia looked through her previous postcards and compiled the data from all of them to figure out where her values were present in the design process. She determined that she values the research and evaluation stages the most. This realization helped her see where her ethics come out in design.
