Petrina’s design awareness question was, “What emotions are felt throughout the design process?” which she investigated while creating a digital illustration. This postcard reads from left to right. The top of the postcard shows different stages of illustration, from initial sketching to adding the final touches. Different combinations of shapes, colors, and shape orientations represent different emotions. The height of a shape represents the prevalence of an emotion, and the orientation represents the valence of the emotion. For example, triangles pointed up are positive, triangles pointed down are negative, and rectangles are neutral. See the back of the postcard for the key and other details!
