Julian’s postcard uses physical textures to “visualize” his captured data from developing his thesis project. He was inspired by the thought of making a postcard for someone who might have a visual impairment and investigating how that person could experience the same thing that Julian would with a visual postcard. Each material translates to a part of his design process. From left to right, whatever material you feel is how he felt during that stage—for example, the pipe cleaners in information gathering feel soft and fuzzy, and the rounded tubes in synthesis feel smooth and solid.
